    The Global Immigration Partner (Contractor Position) works at all levels of the company to help execution of our global immigration strategy. The ideal candidate will have significant previous experience and demonstrated success independently operating in the full spectrum of activity for a large global/Non-US immigration program. They will be expected to have a high degree of knowledge and expertise in all facets of global immigration as it pertains to multi-jurisdictional technical review, visa/work permit application requirements, document requirements, approval timelines and ability to optimize each case for successful and quick approvals. They will ensure that the immigration program runs smoothly across the various insourced and outsourced operations teams and that we are in compliance with government regulations, all the while delivering a premium people experience. This role will be part of our Global Mobility center of excellence and will be based in our Menlo Park offices, reporting to the Global Immigration Director.

     

    ·         Provide consultations on the most complex and high level matters to develop strategies to mitigate risk and provide timely solutions.

    ·         Ensure timely and focused execution of business visa needs for highly mobile population and seamlessly handle any escalations.

    ·         Manage the new hires and transferring employee’s immigration consultation process. Scale with the company growth.

    ·         Ensure high quality experience to employees, managers and business stakeholders by leveraging internal shared services and outsourced partners for transactional activity.

    ·         Partner with the Global Immigration Manager on specialized projects with strategic focus on global immigration policy, stakeholder education and consultation and advising, implementing, maintaining and reporting on immigration policy matters.

    ·         Role model partnership and collaboration at all levels with internal stakeholders, to deliver our high bar of people experience; hold operations team partners to high standards of service delivery and partnership

    ·         Lead various internal reviews or audits of immigration data, processes and policies.

    ·         Develop and deliver company-wide education materials, seminars, Q&A’s, etc.

    ·         Collaborate with growing global mobility team on other team initiatives and projects as assigned.

    ·         Expected to take on additional program ownership in the immigration area as team scales to meet company growth needs.

    Skills

    ·         Detailed knowledge of global visa types, processes and the ability to review case facts to determine the optimal filing type.

    ·         Ability to influence all levels of leadership and lead industry-transforming practices across all vendors.

    ·         Capable of exercising independent judgment and discretion while utilizing company policies and practices to determine appropriate action.

    ·         Ability to clearly articulate complex/nuanced immigration matters to leadership and/or stakeholders.

    ·         Ability to critically analyze situations and spot potential issues.

    ·         Exceptional attention to detail and accuracy and working with highly confidential data that requires 100% accuracy. Ability to absorb/retain large amounts of data. 

    ·         Excellent communication skills and ability to handle sensitive matters with tact and diplomacy.

    ·         Ability to work independently but contributing within a team environment (remote and onsite)

    Education

    ·         Bachelor’s degree or equivalent experience in immigration, Human Resources or directly related field.

    ·         Minimum 5 years working in deep technical role within global immigration including at least 3 years of industry in-house immigration and mobility program experience.
