    About Landed:

We’re on a mission to uphold all the people who uphold all of us, which is why we help essential professionals, starting with educators, build financial security in or near the communities they serve.  We do this by investing alongside them when they are ready to buy a home. We call this model shared equity down payment support. Here's how it works.  The company, founded in 2015 and based in San Francisco. Recent news coverage about Landed can be found hereHear what our customers have to say.

    About the role:

As Landed’s team scales, Landed needs additional support reviewing properties. Landed is looking for a team member who is willing to review properties on behalf of Landed customers and Landed's investors. This individual will be on the Landed Home Team and will be integral to the seamless functioning of Landed’s internal operations. As a Property Reviewer, you will work cross-functionally with the Investments team and our Homebuying Programs Leads to make sure we’re effectively advising and supporting our customers throughout their home purchase journey and upholding our investment policies.

As a Landed Property Reviewer, you will:

    • Review properties to evaluate whether or not they meet Landed's underwriting guidelines, including but not limited to the home inspection report, the preliminary title report, the seller's disclosures, and HOA documentation (if applicable).
    • If there are items in the standard documentation that indicate that a property may not meet Landed's underwriting guidelines, your responsibility is to request appropriate follow-up reports or documentation in order to acquire sufficient data to make an approval decision on the property.
    • If the property poses a risk to Landed's portfolio as determined by Landed's underwriting guidelines, your responsibility will be to deny the property and provide sufficient rationale for the Homebuying Programs Lead to engage in a dialogue with the agent and customer.
    • If the property has some concerns that will need to be remedied during the customer's occupancy of the home, your responsibility is to craft instructions to the homebuyer about what repairs or maintenance is required and on what timeline.
    • If the property passes Landed's underwriting guidelines, your responsibility is to approve the home for funding.
    • In addition to evaluating homes on behalf of Landed's investors, you will be communicating all findings of note in an educational, warm, and fuzzy tone to customers in the form of notes in a 24 hour turnaround time.
    • Project manage the property queue of outstanding offers for review
    • Provide feedback or recommendations to the investment team on new or existing underwriting guidelines and investment policies

    You're an ideal candidate if:

    • You have 5+ years of experience as a real estate agent, home inspector, or appraiser
    • You have experience in property valuation using comparative market analysis, automated valuation models, appraisals, or underwriting to determine the marketability of a property.
    • You have experience reading, reviewing and synthesizing real estate documents such as inspection reports, seller disclosures, and HOA agreements.
    • You are willing to be flexible & adaptive to a growing team’s needs over time.
    • You have a strong desire to have a positive impact and an intention to work at a mission-driven company.
    • You are both a leader and a learner; when you’re the expert in the room, you humbly educate others, and when you’re out of your depth, you willingly ask for and receive help.
    • You are a confident writer who can communicate technical concepts in a warm and educational tone.

    Must haves:

    • Willingness to conduct work during PST business hours.
