    About the Role:

    Our team at Landed is growing! We’re excited to be hiring a fantastic Sales Development Representative to support prospective homebuyers throughout the country. You will join an energetic, driven group of humans on the Sales team working together to ensure we provide a fantastic customer experience. This role reports to the Director of Sales and the location is flexible 

    You'll be joining a highly collaborative and cross-functional team that is passionate and focuses on finding win-win scenarios. Our work is deeply personal to our customers, and we want humans driving every part of the business thoughtfully. It is an ideal role for a mission-oriented, driven relationship builder who is energized by developing genuine connections to customers, and driving toward team goals. The result of this work: significantly more essential professionals on a path towards financial security, allowing them to commit to the profession and communities they love. 

    Your primary objectives are to decrease the time it takes for customers to hear back from a Landed human as well as to increase conversion.  You will do this through fast personalized outreach at key drop-off points for customers who are interested in learning more about Landed’s programs. You'll provide technical support for customers using our customer portal as well as covering chat and phone lines. You will provide customer service coverage for all markets during business peaks.  You will be a key player focused on helping the Sales Team develop and maintain thoughtful and effective email, text, and phone engagement strategies.  

    As a Sales Development Representative, you will:

    • Lead phone conversations with customers: focused on delivering a fantastic experience and motivating prospective buyers to take positive steps in their home buying journey. After each conversation, deliver a consistent and high quality follow up, including full data tracking. Prioritize genuinely understanding who our customers are, what their goals are, and how our products/services may be able to help them achieve their goals. At Landed, we focus on what’s best for each individual buyer -- even when the best option may not result in revenue for Landed. We believe that the best way to build a sustainable and customer-focused organization is by doing the right thing for customers, every time. 

    • Respond to inbound communications: Proactively respond to prospective homebuyers who reach out via phone, email, chat, portal and web inquiries. Motivate customers during key milestones in the process, such as calling customers who have completed an application, but have not yet scheduled a phone call with their Relationship Manager. Ensure they are fully heard, and they receive a clear and timely response. 

    • Provide technical support for our customer self onboarding portal: Respond to customer inquiries about systems use with clear instructions that are easily understood. Be a natural problem solver who is able to establish rapport with customers during first contact and go above and beyond to help them be comfortable with the technology and their journey. You will be one of the main people doing tech support in a system that we're actively building. You're curious to learn more about technology, you spot opportunities and you're eager to provide ideas on how we can build the best possible system for our customers.

    • Manage sales templates, sequences and the customer email boxes: Launch and test new email/phone outreach strategies (including developing new content) from idea generation through qualified calls, and support how to best scale them. As a key supporter to the entire sales team, you develop best practices on email, phone, and text sales engagement, and ensure the whole team is up to date. 

    • Work cross-functionally with the entire sales team: Support with key sales and operational tasks to ensure the sales team is ready to engage with buyers in new markets we launch in. 

    • Support special projects: focuses may include improving the customer journey, presentation support and more.

    We think you’ll be great for this role if …

    • You have at least 2 years of work experience, and previous experience in sales, account management, customer experience, campaign strategy/design, community organizing or customer systems support.
    • Willing and able to support homebuyers from coast to coast and work flexible hours that fit their schedules. Our markets extend from Hawaii to the East Coast so you will be working with customers and co-workers across these time zones.
    • A people’s person who’s energized by talking to a large, diverse group of homebuyers every day through phone, zoom, chat or other modes of communication.
    • You have a comfort and a willingness to learn our systems (Hubspot, Slack, etc), and use data daily in your role.
    • Your natural mode is to be positive and to embrace change.  You’re comfortable with ambiguity.  You can take action without needing a fully developed roadmap.
    • You're willing and excited to learn from failure, and get right back at it.
    • You're motivated to enroll others in something you believe in. You're wanting to advocate for and think like a Landed homebuyer. 

    We’d be even more excited if you …

    • Bring previous experience in real estate.
    • Have experience with the home buying process. This could be through purchasing your own home, supporting family or friends purchasing a home, or working in the real estate housing industry in any capacity (lending, sales, etc.).
    • Are familiar with what it's like working for a high growth startup company. You love change.
    • Are fluent in a second language, preferably Spanish.

    This role may not be for candidates who are looking for . . .

    • An established position with little change, with a precedent to follow and with a set blueprint to carry out; we need self-starters.
    • Easy hours, low risk and slow paced.
    • A strategy role with a wide variety of daily tasks.
    • Minimal daily time on the phone
    • Flexibility to be a real estate agent on the side.

    • This is a full-time, exempt role with a flexible location
    • The salary for this position is $47,600 with equity at a high-profile, Series A start-up.
