    The Global Mobility Director will design and lead RSM’s global mobility program ensuring support of business strategy while championing high standards for compliance with legal and regulatory compliance. This role will lead the program operations and act as consultant and business partner to leaders using information about industry trends and best practices in mobility. The Director will develop creative solutions to meet immediate and long-term business objectives.



    Essential Duties:
    • Manage strategy for RSM’s global mobility program including the design and implementation of the appropriate infrastructure, management of global assignments, international business travel and relocations, while ensuring industry competitiveness and compliance with legal, tax and local employment regulations. Provide strategic global mobility-related expertise and training to firm leaders and the talent organization.
    • Responsible for the operations of global assignment programs (full life-cycle management of inbound and outbound short-term, long-term and expatriate assignments). Continuously review global mobility programs and processes, identifying operational challenges, recommending and implementing cost effective solutions and ensuring industry best practices and positive talent experiences. Drive integration and standardization across the global enterprise, collaborating closely with tax, payroll, legal, immigration and compensation teams. Will have immigration responsibility related to assignments.
    • Develop and leverage relationships with RSM US and RSM member firms to ensure assignments deliver high level talent experiences. Serve as RSM US representative on projects led by RSM related to global assignments as needed. Support the global mobility leader in forecasting global needs (inbound and outbound) and assist with recruitment/selection process for global assignments.
    • Manage and continually assess global mobility vendors, processes and policies to ensure optimal experience for employees and managers while carefully managing the fiscal impact of assignments.
    • Effectively interpret and leverage employment data (turnover, headcount, compensation, performance, etc.) and financial data (employee expenses, travel costs, vendor expense, relocation expense, etc.) to provide insights to key stakeholders with measurable feedback and results.
    • Monitor market/industry best practices and improve program efficiencies through technology enhancement and effective management of external business partners.
    • Other duties as assigned.

    EDUCATION/CERTIFICATIONS
    • Bachelor’s degree required with HR emphasis
    • HR certification preferred (GPHR, SPHR, SHRM-SCP)

    • Detail and solution-oriented approach with the ability to think innovatively
    • Ability to build relationships and work effectively across various teams, geographies and cultures as well as independently
    • Knowledge of Workday, assignment management technology preferred
    • Demonstrated ability to understand business goals and recommend new approaches, policies and procedures to effect continual improvements
    • Strong project management and operational effectiveness skills
    • Ability to assess information, anticipate issues and outcomes and provide innovative, flexible solutions to complex and unique problems.
    • Keep current on market trends, business challenges and priorities by gathering competitive market data and networking with relevant industry subject matter experts.
    • Assess changes in the internal and external environments and drive needed program/process changes.
    • Ability to exchange and present information in a strategic, concise manner.
    • Superior verbal and written communication skills with an emphasis on tact and diplomacy
    • Ability to travel up to 10%, including international travel as needed.
    • Ability and willingness to attend calls to accommodate different time zones.

    Experience
    • 8+ years of HR experience required
    • 10+ years of hands on global mobility experience including expatriate, immigration and mobility program management, as well as key HR disciplines including compensation, benefits, and employment law in a global context
    • Experienced manager of vendors, subject matter experts, and customer service delivery teams

    • Ability to influence, negotiate with and persuade others. Be flexible and demonstrate strong judgment/decision making skills. Ability to intelligently build a course of action, analyze trade-offs and make recommendations
    • Proven ability to work effectively at all levels of the organization and across other functional areas
