US Immigration and Relocation Specialist ( 5 Month Contract Position)

    Job Description:

    In the temporary role of Senior Live Anywhere Specialist (US Immigration and Relocation), you will work closely with the Live Anywhere team, and cross-functional teams to advise on specific immigration challenges, foster new ideas and support the immigration and relocation processes for Airbnb’s new hires and existing employees in the United States. You will create strong partnerships, and manage and grow cross-functional relationships that will create a successful environment for the success of Airbnb’s Live Anywhere programs. The ideal candidate will have 5+ years experience in supporting US immigration, and 2+ years of relocation experience,  preferably in an in-house corporate setting. This is a contract position, needed for approximately 5 months.

    Job Duties

    • Act as primary resource for employees, managers, recruiters and Talent Partners on all aspects of US immigration, including visas, work permit, and permanent resident processes and timelines.

    • Partner closely with Airbnb’s US immigration counsel and relocation partner to initiate and track cases.

    • Consult with internal and external partners on US immigration matters to develop strategies to mitigate risk and provide timely solutions..

    • Partner closely with Talent Systems and Talent Operations teams to ensure mobility services are effectively delivered.

    • Proactively communicate immigration and relocation updates with internal stakeholders.

    • Maintain and add to Airbnb’s immigration process guides and education materials for internal training.

    • Assist with training key business stakeholders (Talent Partners, Recruiting teams etc.)

    • Maintain immigration trackers and case management tools.

    • Create strong relationships with internal partners including Payroll, Equity and Legal teams, with whom you’ll align on policy and operationalization for these programs.

    • Review and audit immigration invoices

    Qualifications

    • BA/BS degree or equivalent practical experience.

    • 5+ Years of experience in a corporate immigration role

    • 2+ Years of relocation experience 

    • Strong knowledge of US immigration laws.

    • Experience working with Workday.

    • Knowledge of industry, market and regulatory changes in immigration.

    • Ability to work independently in a fast-paced, dynamic environment.

    • Ability to establish and maintain relationships and partnerships with key stakeholders.

    • Effective interpersonal, teamwork, communication and organizational skills.

    • Strong attention to detail skills and an ability to retain large amounts of sensitive and confidential information


    Role is remote (anywhere in the US)
